| New VenturesTM is a 60 hour course for those interested in starting or expanding a small business. In-depth coverage of topics such as: your customer, competition, marketing, record keeping, taxes, legal aspects, financing, and operations. The ten - twelve week training leads to a written business plan. Successful graduates may be eligible for 3 UMA credits with a small processing fee. Class size is limited to 15. An application and interview are required. New Ventures is an approved training under the Unemployment Compensation system. Over 1200 individuals have graduated from the training over the past 20 years. Application, Orientation and interview are required. Application due: Wednesday, December 10. Orientation session: Wednesday, December 15, 9:30-12:00 Individual interviews (half hour interviews, generally scheduled at orientation): Wednesday, December 15, Thursday, December 16 and Friday, December 17. Class begins: Wednesday, January 5, 2011 | ||
| Individuals with a business idea or who are in the start up phase of a new venture.Displaced Homemakers, single parents, dislocated and unemployed workers, other economically disadvantaged individuals with a specific business idea in mind. | ||
