Federal Contracting Opportunities for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business

Does a service-disabled veteran-owned small business have to be formally certified to obtain federal contracts?

There is no formal certification process (see 13CFR 125.15). There is no minimum disability rating requirement. A service-disabled veteran-owned small business is defined as a business that is at least 51 percent owned by one or more eligible veterans or, in the case of publicly owned business, at least 51 percent of the stock is owned by one or more veterans. These veterans must also control the firm's management and daily business operations.
