About Us Founded in 1976, The mission of the Maine Fishermen’s Forum is to provide opportunities on a continuous basis to educate the public and the fishing industry about fisheries and marine resource issues, and to provide a neutral platform for constructive discussion and decision making. The Maine Fishermen’s Forum holds an annual three day event which focuses attention on issues affecting the commercial fishing industry. The event is held each year in March at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine. The Forum attracts thousands of people from fishing related businesses, government agencies, individual fishermen, scientists, and public organizations that serve the industry. The Forum happens through a volunteer effort by people who donate hours of time, equipment, and services.
